This picture demonsrates figure/ ground. I like how the two images interlock with each other creating a focal point within the center of the art work where the images become one. There is good positive and negative space and it makes you think what is in front, the black figure or the white figure. When the images are put together, it creates a new shape which you can't really describe. When I first looked at the art work I didn't really know what it was, but when I looked closer I could see that it is two S's, one right side up on the left and the other sideways on the right. Where the images interlock at the top, it seems to create a heart the way the colors are positioned.
